Sugganahalli Narasimha Temple

Sugganahalli Narasimha Temple

Have a darshan to believe it! Most of the times my visits to temples are out of reluctance. This visit changed my view for the first time. Being my family deity, Lord narasimha in Sugganahalli is an eye candy. The temple is attached to Mujrahi department but surprisingly immaculate and well-rung. The temple is open in the mornings and evenings. We had to request priest to open the main door of the temple. The temple needed 3 allocated persons to be present while opening. The key to the main door was nearly 2 ft in length!!!
The main deity is Narasimha in standing posture, the same way as he gave the darshan to the Rishi. We were taken around the temple. Backyard is shaded by a massive Elachi tree at the base with Lord's Paduke on a stone. Every day offerings are made to the bark and the stone padhuke.

Narasimha in the standing posture is handsome looking and one can feel the vibrations in the premises. Lord Garuda is also worshipped here with great fanfare.
There is a strong belief that Lord Garuda has powers to cure certain ailments and onsite opportunities. We were given Kumkuma which was placed at the feet of Lord Garuda as blessings.

Yet another interesing place is the Stambha Narasimha about 2 kms from the main temple. The temple is in an elevated land and there are many stories about its origin and power which seemed indeed true. The vigraha is tall and majestic with shanka, chakra and atma linga. A rare sight indeed. The place is peaceful and far from regular temple crowd and cacophony. An ideal place for introspection and meditation, if one has inclinations.

Total Distance: Approx. 65 Kms from BEL Circle
Road is awfully bad and one needs 2 hrs to travel this distance.
Suggest Morning drive

Route
Yeshwantpur
Nelamangala - Left turn towards Hassan
Solur
Right turn towards Kudur
Sugganahalli

I strongly suggest to seek guidance while driving to avoid detouring to reach Sugganahalli.

Mr. NAREN Great to read the article. Composed very well. I think you have not visited the temple after 2008. Now the drive is so smooth and tireless. You can see tarred road from Bangalore to Sugganahalli up till the door of the temple. Now you can find lot of improvements, except minimum basic facilities like toilets, good hotels etc., Now the Taluk Tahasildar and Dy. Commr. of District act swiftly and take care of these basic requirements. I hope you enlighten more on the subject.

Thanks - Muralidhar Varadachar

We had been to this temple on 2nd July 2014. Road is good. Near Nelamangala get down to wards Kunigal-NH 48. After the 1st Toll in Hassan Road 12KM is Solur. Take right turn 11Km is Kudhur from there 8 Km in Tumkur road is Sugganahalli temple. Road is very good. If you can't take right turn at Solur, go for 1Km, there is a petrol bunk to the Left, few meters away you can take U turn and then left turn for Sugganhalli via Kudhur. Temple is open from 10-30to 13-30hrs and from 18-30 to 20-30hrs. 1Km from main temple is Kambada Narasimha. This is Moola devaru. PhoneNo. of Archaka- Sri LakshmiNarasimha-9731208674.
He can be contacted to book for special Poojas or even for Lunch arrangement( Puliyogare, Curd rice)
